626 Golden Streets: “Modeled after the thousands of other open streets or CicLAvia events that have been organized around the world and across the United States, 626 Golden Streets will temporarily open stretches of roadway from South Pasadena to Azusa for people to walk, jog, skate, bike and more. Organizers are excited to bring this concept to 7 San Gabriel Valley cities for the first time.”

The Great LA River CleanUp: The Friends of the Los Angeles River have opened up registration for what is the largest urban river cleanup in America. FoLAR is aiming to break the records again this year with the most volunteers ever, looking for Angelenos to help clean up sections all along the Los Angeles River (no doubt in need of clean up this spring after all the rain). Note: To participate you must register and turn in a completed waiver at the CleanUp.

Julia Morgan Legacy Event – Co-produced by the Santa Monica Conservancy and the Association for Women in Architecture + Design: “Join the Santa Monica Conservancy and the Association for Women in Architecture + Design in a special commemoration of architect Julia Morgan, California’s first woman architect. Noted for her collaboration with William Randolph Hearst to create Hearst Castle in San Simeon, Morgan left a legacy of more than 700 projects in her nearly five decades of practice. Posthumously awarded the AIA’s highest honor, a Gold Medal, her brilliant and pioneering work has only recently won public recognition.”
