Inaturalist Training at Descanso Gardens
Two-part iNaturalist training at Descanso Gardens, led by the Citizen Science Program from the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County. Morning session is targeted to citizen scientists and project managers, and will emphasize the iNaturalist mobile app. Afternoon session is targeted to project managers and will emphasize iNaturalist project management.

Bixby Marsh Open House
The Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County maintain the 17-acre Bixby Marshland. The Marshland is located in the City of Carson, just east of the 110 Freeway and South of Sepulveda Blvd. This urban jewel is a freshwater habitat containing a diverse group of native plants and animals. The marshland has trails, informational signs, and shade structures. Docents are available for guided tours as well!

Schank is the first-ever Chief Innovation Officer for the Los Angeles County Metro and former President and CEO of the Eno Center for Transportation a non-profit foundation with the mission of improving transportation policy and leadership. Dr. Schank, who is an urban planner, has worked on federal and state transportation policy over a decade.

San Gabriel Mission Fiesta 2017
Join us for this year’s San Gabriel Mission Fiesta beginning on Labor Day weekend of September 2017!

Big Canyon Bird Walk
Walk around Big Canyon identifying bird species with Sea & Sage Audubon volunteer and Naturalist. All species documented on eBird.org. Last month’s bird cout can be found HERE. Suitable for beginners and advanced birders. Make sure to bring appropriate footwear, sunscreen and binoculars if you have them!
