Wild by Nature: Sowing Seeds for Wild Flowers and Cool-season Grasses
In Southern California, fall is prime time for sowing seed in the garden. Our spring-blooming annuals provide an array of colors and forms—and perform well in many garden spaces, from meadows and mixed beds to borders and containers. Our cool-season grasses include handsome, water-thrifty turf substitutes. This class offers tips and tricks on soil preparation, design concepts, sowing techniques, watering and cultivation, and an illustrated overview of the instructor’s most-beloved species.

Tech Open Air Conference
Tech Open Air (TOA), founded in Berlin by Nikolas Woischnik, is the first and largest interdisciplinary technology festival in Europe dedicated to bringing together tech, music, art & science through knowledge exchange and collaboration. NThe upcoming 2nd L.A. edition, as part of the “Berlin Weeks”, celebrating 50 years of city sisterhood of both cities, will again highlight the best from Berlin and L.A. tech, music, art and science. TOA L.A. 2016 speakers, attendees and performers included Google Co-Founder Sergey Brin, Native Instruments CEO Daniel Haver and Berlin’s famous export, L.A.-based music producer Robot Koch.
